Ehraaykom ... the Bluetooth 3 gonna be almost the same speed as Wireless 802.11 which is 25-28Mbit...

Thats way better than bluetooth 2 speed haa :P ?
o yegoolik ... by enableing ur BT and disable ur wireless,
That will gives ur device a great battery life .. yasalam ^ - ^`

Officially named 'Bluetooth 3.0 + HS' (the HS standing for 'High Speed') it makes use of the 802.11 protocol to increase both range of data transfer speeds as well as boosting battery life. Sound good? Well, it's alright.

Far from the prior Bluetooth SIG claim (http://www.trustedreviews.com/networking/news/2009/04/10/WiFi-Fast-Bluetooth-3-0-Spec-Debuts-21-April/p1) of "Transferring an entire music library, a complete DVD, a vacation's worth of photos, all within seconds at the touch of a button", 3.0 + HS will actually operate at a real world rate of 25-28Mbit - on a par with wireless g. That's a substantial improvement on the 1-2Mbit experienced today but you'll be more likely waiting hours than seconds to transfer "a complete DVD" and it falls a long way short of the speeds achievable via Draft N.

On the plus side, the simple coupling method of Bluetooth means products equipped with 3.0 + HS will be able to stream video (720p HD should be fine depending on range) from portable devices to HDTVs, enable wireless syncing of MP3 players and phones and the nippy transfer of images between cameras and PCs. SIG also claims battery drain will be reduced, but that will only be when idle as WiFi uses more juice than Bluetooth when in use.

Traditional Bluetooth member companies Atheros, Broadcom, CSR and Marvell are working on getting 3.0 + HS into manufacturers' hands as we speak but SIG does admit it is likely to be nine to 12 months before we'll be able to clasp our hands on any real world products.

I simply think they need to develop an alternative bluetooth technology instead of making it like wireless-g. If they say battery life is an excuse how come I'm seeing N is vastly improving in battery life?
But why am I even complaining, its good to see a new technology :p

Bluetooth connection is good for simple devices connectivity ( headsets - pics transferring - small files exchanging ).

But increasing the volume of the data transfer from does mean that the technology will improve the performance.

Bluetooth technoology has failed when it comes to transfering a large files or any data that requires high bandwidth.

What im guessing is Bluetooth 3 will improve to handle large files transfers and data that requires high bandwidth also will support Hi-Def Audio and Video.

but Bluetooth will remain used to be used for small amount of devices between 2 - 6 devices, also it lacks of Access Points availability and price, i.e Wireless-G Access point sold for 15KD while Bluetooth Access point sold for 100KD and you can rarely find it in the market.

And I dont think so that Bluetooth will use the same frequency of the Wireless-G technology as they are totally different, and what they will do is they will use the same concept of Wireless-G into the Bluetooth Technology, but not connecting them togather, Bluetooth devices connect between each other by using the MAC address as a unique identifier of both devices while Wireless-A/B/G/N use TCP/IP as the main protocol of communication as well as a unique identifier between multiple devices on the same network.
