ST Season 2 (August/December 2009)

After a long break, the ST team are back and ready to start the second season of 2009, the first micro tournament will be on the 7th of August and the game will be Blazblu (a more detailed announcement will be posted one week before the tournament). Also i would like to clarify that the videos/detialed in depth coverage of the event will be posted within the upcoming weeks and it will take some time since we're already understaffed and I'm busy with the summer course finals ;p

Will you make it Clan based [don't think so since too big] or 1 VS 1 or 2 VS 2

Quako, the more players a game has, the better it is to make teams, so it will be more fluid and less matches overall take place. That's what the Japan does in case a game gets too many, since matches would take forever. They make it 2v2 or 3v3 depending on the size. If it's for a first time thing and they don't know how many will participate they make it 1v1. I highly suggest Street Fighter 4 in december is 2v2 or 3v3, since the 1v1 in June by itself took a long time, now we'll have more people hopefully, and 1v1 has already been done, so make it 2v2.

There will be a separate thread(post) 1 week before the micro tournaments, all you have to do is reply with your nickname to join.

But for the big event which will be on December it will be different, but you will be noticed a month before the event so don't worry :p

The game is 8 years old and I still find myself playing a couple of matches. To me, Melee will never die. Brawl will NEVER replace Melee.

Oh well, guess it's time to start playing other fighting games. I'm thinking along the lines of BlazBlue.

yeah, but have you seen the scores on IGN and Gamespot for KOF XII? many people think it's crappy and they say people should buy BlazBlue instead, It takes the cake for best 2D fighting game in Japan. Still, I play some KOF XII but casually, though I'm a fan of KOF.

BlazBlue is a bad choice honestly since it had its chance at the last micro tournament, and the turnout wasn't as great as expected, as compared to Street Fighter which gets a guaranteed minimum 30 or some ridiculously awesome turnout. KOF XII is also a bad choice since no one here plays it, turnout would be very minimal. SF4 also has the added benefit of being enjoyable to watch even if you don't understand the basics of the game, while Blazblue and XII people would need to understand the basics and advance to then enjoy it.

besides, Street Fighter 4 was the last official event, ya3ny what I'm saying is that nearly every tournament at ST is Street Fighter 4. Besides, If Blazblue was the December official event, the advanced BlazBlue players, including myself, would enter the tournament. It would also put some variety.

hmm... If we are discussing something like this, Quako should make a poll on topdark to show which game is for ST EVENT DECEMBER: Street Fighter 4, BlazBlue, or KOF XII.

also the fee of the official tournament WAS 3 for players and 2 viewers i dunno if the same goes to 2nd event
so a 20 players = 60kd and the place u gonna take for the official event at least takes 200 kd so 100+ "there was 300" last official event so after all BB isnt the right choice

of course i'd play it. I never played Guilty Gear, but once you start playing BlazBlue, you get addicted. I would be looking forward to playing the sequel, I've been training a lot for a reason. Seriously, It's gonna get a LOOOOOT of hype, new players galore.

yeah, you're gonna need a LOT more people, besides, White Tower's been anonymous to lots of gamers in Kuwait (yes, I haven't been there), so you're gonna need ads on Telafizyoon al-Wa6an to attract attention.
